Ben has over 13 years of experience coaching high school and college wrestling, track and field, youth soccer, and baseball. A former high school, college, and MMA wrestler himself, Ben is a passionate CrossFit L1 trainer and athlete.

More About Ben

What is your athletic background?
I started wrestling when I was 10 years old. In high school, I was a 2x state champion, and a college All American, placing 7th at Nationals. I also played football, volleyball, racquetball, just about any sport!

How and when did you become familiar with CrossFit?
When I coached wrestling at the University of Mary, I was always looking for ways to improve our overall conditioning and fitness. I came across some videos of teams doing CrossFit-style workouts and loved it.

Why do you coach CrossFit?
I love the sport of CrossFit so much. I want to help others achieve their goals and get to a level of fitness and healthy they never knew they could reach.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about CrossFit?
Don't wait! I wish I could get back the time I lost putting it off. I always told myself I need to get into better shape before I started. Now I know the opposite is true. Start and it will get you on the road to a healthier you!

What inspires you to train and improve daily?
It's the feeling I get after a hard workout. I've accomplished something that is incredibly challenging and mentally and physically I am stronger because of it.
